The Holy Family Caritas in Solotvyno is a respected institution of the community, which has provided tangible help and spiritual support to hundreds of families and elderly people over the years. The focus of their helping activities is on preserving human dignity and providing physical and spiritual support to those in need.

One of the main pillars of the service is the operation of the social kitchen, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025. For 10 years, they have been doing sacrificial work in the service of those in need, towards all those who need a plate of hot food, a kind word, a little attention. The celebration organized on the occasion of the anniversary also commemorated the International Day of the Elderly. In the joint program, they expressed their gratitude and respect for those who set an example for young people with their lives. The event is of particular importance to the community, as it strengthens the sense of belonging and the connection between generations. Children and young people treated the elderly with poems and songs, thanks to which everyone was able to spend time in a cheerful atmosphere.

Zsuzsanna Ruszanyuk, head of the Holy Family Caritas of Solotvyno, said that all their activities are realized through applications and donations. Their work is supported by volunteers who are committed to ensuring that no one is left without help in Solotvyno and its surroundings. The social kitchen serves 110 people, who receive a hot meal five times a week. Most of the diners are single or bedridden elderly people. Two helpers prepare the meals, while a third employee delivers them to their homes for those who cannot come. For many elderly people, this is the only time during the day when they can talk and meet others. This helps them feel better, stay connected to the community, and not feel forgotten.
